Hope’s Printable Weight Watchers Journal

by Hope Wilbanks on April 17th, 2008

Yesterday I shared a link to a free printable Weight Watchers journal. I hadn’t printed out that journal to use because I had already created my own in Publisher. So I thought I’d print out a few pages to use so I could see if Al’s journal worked okay for me. I have to say that it didn’t.

So I thought I’d share my personal Weight Watchers printable journal with you. It’s a PDF file, so you can take a look at it before you actually print it, if you’d like. Mine is set up similar to Al’s, but there are marked differences between the two. Just like Al’s, you can print mine on both sides of a sheet, then cut it in half and punch holes in it to put in a half-size 3-ring binder.

One thing I didn’t like about Al’s printable food journal is how he has the totals set up. I got confused pretty quick. (Okay, so sometimes it doesn’t take much to confuse me!) I also couldn’t figure out why he had so many blocks for water.

So here’s how mine works…

I really like the Weight Watchers food journals that you get when you go to the meetings. It’s like a check register. That’s how my brain operates. So I set up my printable journal in a similar manner. At the top of the page, you can log the date and your weight. Then I created a register.

At the top is TARGET POINTS, where you can begin your day by writing down the number of points you are allowed for that day. Then I listed BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER, and SNACKS respectively below that, allowing plenty of spaces for each meal.

On the right side of the page is two columns: USED and BALANCE. This is pretty self-explanatory. Write your initial target points in the BALANCE column at the beginning of the day. Then for every food you list at each meal time, write the number of points used for each food item. Subtract your points as you go through the day. Then at the end of the day, your points will either balance, or you’ll be in the red. If you go over your points, then you’ll need to subtract those from the Weekly Flex Points you have (if you’re following the Flex Points plan).

I also included a water chart at the bottom to keep track of my water intake. However, mine only has 6 blocks because 6 glasses of water is the minimum you need per day. Anything you drink over that is AWESOME for you, but not necessary to record. There’s also a VITA box, which is to remind you to take your daily vitamin.

If you don’t like Al’s food journal, try mine out. Hopefully it will help some of you! Here’s the link to download it:Hope’s Printable Weight Watchers Journal

Hi Cindy! Make sure your page settings are on Landscape, rather than Portrait. Try that and see if that helps.
