Will Power Is My Middle Name
Let me start this by saying that it’s been hard finding my will power again these last few weeks. In fact, by some accounts, you could probably say I still haven’t found it. But I’m trying hard.
Here’s the proof. I offer to you…
Exhibit A: Fresh Sourdough Rolls (still warm from the oven)

As if this weren’t tempting enough, I offer you…
Exhibit B: Fresh, Homemade Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls (with ooey, gooey powdered sugar icing)

Now I ask you…..WHO’S THE WOMAN WITH THE WILL POWER? I AM!
All of these are going to the bank with my sister this morning. She’s been selling my sourdough bread and rolls at work. I’m putting this money back to buy my school books (just started back last week). So I’m killing two birds with one stone: NOT eating all this deliciously fattening bread I’m baking twice a week, AND selling it to earn money to apply to my college education.
How smart (and thinner) am I?! :)

LOL! Girl, you don’t know how hard it is not to eat half a pan of those rolls when they first come out of the oven. I top them with warm butter as soon as they come out. Oh my word! The cinnamon rolls don’t bother me as much, but those warm, fresh sourdough rolls are DE-LISH!

Wow, that looks inviting. I wish I had that kind of will power. When easter came around I was wolfing down candy like it was cool…but it wasn’t because I’m wearing a little bit of it now. Cadbury candy eggs (Not the cream eggs) but the little candy coated dark chocolate eggs are the devil. I’m also very weak against the power of sweet tarts and smarties.

You are the women. Those sticky buns look delish!!!!! Great job Hope- you will feel better for it in the long run. Keep it up, by the way, I am throwing my scale out a second story window as it must not work because it doesn’t move, haha. J/K- about throwing it away….

I know what you mean, Scott. We had oodles of candy from Easter (not because of me, b/c I didn’t give them baskets full of candy this year). I let my kids eat on it for a couple of weeks, then threw away the rest of it. My daughter was none too happy about it, but it was way too tempting for me.

@Kristen: Thanks! :)
@Kendra: I hear you, girl! I felt like that a couple of weeks ago. In fact, when I stepped on mine this morning, it said I gained a pound. And that was after resisting the dreaded cinnamon rolls! Phooey on those old scales! ;)

I used to bake a lot in the Army. Sometimes 40 pies and 30 double layer round cakes a night. I honeslty couldn’t eat cake and pies for a long time. Cookies were no problem though.
I can’t get over how pretty those rolls look. Nice and hot with some cream cheese…man I’m getting hungry!

Wow! That’s a lot of cakes and pies all at one time!
Speaking of cream cheese, you know what’s really good? When I bake loaves of bread, after it sits a few days it starts to grow stale and isn’t as soft as when it’s fresh. I cut a couple of slices and toast them under the broiler in the oven, then spread a little bit of fat free cream cheese and a just a tad of blackberry preserves (from Cracker Barrel). YUMMMM-MMMMY!! Even just the toast with cream cheese is wonderful. But of course, I have to be very careful with this b/c I can get out of control with it really fast. :) (That’s why I’m glad my sister’s been taking it with her to work and selling it.)

congratulations even now Hope! but it’s a good thing you’re not selling something made from chocolates, or I will be losing my willpower.

Thanks Grace! You know, chocolate doesn’t have as much of a hold on me as all these carbs do. LOL!
