Local Weight Loss Contestant Sheds 20 Pounds
This is a local story, but I wanted to share it with you because it’s so inspiring and real: Click here to read “Willis-Knighton workers shed pounds to win weight-loss crown”.
Willis-Knighton held a competition similar to the popular TV show “The Biggest Loser.” One of the contestants, Katrina Henderson, a nurse, lost almost 20 pounds during the 13-week span.
Henderson admitted that nurses are so busy motivating others that they forget about themselves. Doesn’t that sound familiar?
The weight loss challenge consisted of more than just going on a fad, quick weight-loss diet. The participants were encouraged to develop healthier eating habits as well as develop exercise routines. They were also advised to pinpoint what triggers their emotional binges, in order to prevent them in the future.

I love this final quote by Henderson in the article: “You just have to submit yourself to what you know is right rather than looking for the quick fix or the pills.”
