Start Your Weekend Off Right

The weekends are often the most stressful part of the week for those of us trying to lose weight. Worrying about overeating can make for a miserable weekend.

Sometimes the key to remaining successful on your diet is just to plan ahead. If you have been struggling to make it through every weekend and stay on your diet, here are some quick tips for you to remember and use this weekend:

  • Order from the low-fat or low-cal menu.
  • Pack a light picnic lunch and head out to the park.
  • Invite a group of friends to go bowling. (Avoid the snack bar!)
  • Ask for water with lemon, instead of a soda, when eating out.
  • Split a dish with someone else.
  • Order an appetizer, rather than a main dish.

    Just wrote a blog entry(http://student-body.blogspot.com/2008/07/weight-management-on-weekends.html) about how stressful the weekends have always been for me too! It always seems like all of my friends are kicking back and having fun, but the free time just seems like it’s prime time for weight traps. I’ve finally learned how to compromise :)
